Day two of #ICSW

This morning session is devoted to defending democracy and the right to protest.

 

This plenary brought powerful voices and urgent conversations to the forefront. Highlights included:
🔹 A spotlight on the case of Thai democracy activist hashtag#ArnonNampa, presented by Akarachai Chaimaneekarakate from Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR)
🔹 Youth resistance from hashtag#Jordan, hashtag#Ethiopia & hashtag#Myanmar — with Ala Isbeitan (Ard Collective), Kalkidan Tesfaye, and Thu Thu (Hit Tine) sharing stories of protest and mobilisation in restricted civic spaces ✊
🔹 A dynamic panel discussion on defending civic and democratic freedoms across regions, moderated by Irene P., with great insights from: Anabel Cruz, Gina Romero, Marco De Ponte, Patricia Lerner and Yasir Khan
🔹 A powerful hip hop performance by 11Finger 🎤
