
Caro Krijger currently serves at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs as head of the Civil Society Division of the Social Development Department.
She is an experienced diplomat and manager of complex policy processes, skilled in inclusive development, aid effectiveness and international relations. Caro has an extensive track record in development, trade and economics and political consultations, both at strategic and operational levels. She likes to think out of the box and encourages others to share their diverse thoughts to achieve better results.
In the last 25 years, Caro held several senior positions in Dhaka, Bamako, Kigali and at headquarters, where she closely engaged with a broad range of development actors, including communities, civil society organisations, the private sector, financial institutions, knowledge institutes and government bodies, to foster sustainable development.
She holds a Master’s degree in Development Economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, specializing in Institutional Development.
