Mihajlo is a young peacebuilder from the Balkans, a trainer in Human Rights Education and a Diana Award recipient. As a Chevening Scholar, Mihajlo is pursuing an MSc in Literature and Modernity at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on geopolitics (and geopoetics) in contemporary Anglophone fiction and conspiracy as a postmodern human condition. He is also undertaking another Master’s degree in Transgressive and Postcolonial Literature(s) in English at his alma mater, the currently police-occupied Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad.
For the past five years, Mihajlo has been an active member of CIVICUS through the Youth Action Team (YAT), where he has focused on youth trends in activism, sustainable development, peacebuilding initiatives and, most recently, YAT strategic planning and onboarding of the new cohort. Along his journey with CIVICUS and many engagements on the frontline, he has been a BOLD Fellow in Civic Engagement at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, an alumnus of the MIRAI Peacebuilding programme in Hiroshima, one of the UN Youth Champions for Disarmament at UNODA; a participant in Margaret Atwood's Practical Utopias, and a Serbian UN Youth Delegate in 2023/24.
